MiFID II – Market Infrastructure and Trading Venues

The recast Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) and accompanying Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) (together MiFID II) is one of the largest regulatory undertakings in the financial markets.

Regulated Markets, Multilateral Trading Facilities (MTF) and Systematic Internalisers (SIs) were among the most scrutinised technical topics of the first MIFID, implemented in the UK in November 2007. In keeping with this spirit, MiFID II introduces novel technical concepts to grapple with by regulators and the regulated. Cordium has posted a briefing to our website highlighting some of the important changes for financial services firms which will affect how and where they execute transactions after the implementation of MiFID II.

Please view the full briefing to find out about Cordium’s understanding of the current rules and how they may affect your firm.

For firms that require more information on the impact of MiFID II, Cordium has prepared a detail impact assessment to help clients identify all their regulatory obligations under MiFID II.
